Moai Papercraft

Moai (or mo‘ai) are monolithic human figures carved from rock on the Polynesian island of Rapa Nui (Easter Island), mostly between 1250 and 1500 CE. Nearly half are still at Rano Raraku, the main moai quarry, but hundreds were transported from there and set on Ahu (platforms) which were mostly at the island's perimeter. Almost all have overly large heads three fifths the size of their body. The Moai are the 'living faces' (aringa ora) and representations of chiefly, deified ancestors. Sitting on their Ahus with their backs to the sea, these statues were still gazing across their clan lands when Europeans first visited the island, but most were then cast down during conflict between different clans on the island-wiki

Olympic Mascot Fuwa BeiBei Papercraft

The Fuwa which means "good luck dolls" in Chinese are the official mascots for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.

The cute Fuwa group consists of five members according to the traditional five elements: Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying, and Nini. Each of the five names is designed to look like a plausible name for a small child, while also achieving a more complex task: when the first syllable of each name is put together, it sounds nearly identical to the phrase "北京欢迎你 Běijīng huānyíng nǐ" which means "Beijing welcomes you".

Two of the five mascots represent members of endangered species – Jingjing the giant panda and Yingying the Tibetan antelope. Ariane 44LP Rocket Papercraft

Niels' latest model is the Ariane 4(44LP) rocket. Ariane is a series of a European civilian expendable launch vehicles for space launch use. The name comes from the French mythological character Ariadne.

The Ariane 4 is scaled at 1:96 with more than 200 parts and stands at 60cm high when built. The stages can be separated and includes internal parts. The payload section includes small models of the 3 satellites launched at the first flight. You can download Ariane 1-3 as well as his other space models.
